Katrinka McKay is my wife and mate of 16 years. She just returned from the States where she went in March to visit her son and family and couldn't get back till a few days ago - July 26. We know him as Mike, a very early Shunryu Suzuki student. His professional name as a quite successful artist is Willard Dixon. He's also an excellent jazz musician, playing the sax. The phone chat is sandwiched between my comments on him and reading from his interview on cuke.com. The podcast ends with a song I wrote in 1978 for a work of his called The Painting on the Wall. - dc

Kim Patra has been living in Bali since the mid eighties, is a midwife and performing musician and a good friend. She wrote a book about being a first responder to the horrific 2002 terrorist bombings - In the Arms of the Angles. Her music is on Spotify, YouTube, etc and she can be found there or on Facebook by writing "Mamakim" or "Kim Patra" and her website is mamakimsmusic.com.

Peter and Jane Schneider were Shunryu Suzuki students and are the founding teachers at the Beginner's Mind Zen Center in Northridge, on the edge of Los Angeles. They were both at the first practice period at Tassajara in 1967 and lived in Japan for 22 years.
